Configuring and Using Question Suggestions

Introduction

The Question Suggestions feature enhances user interaction by providing helpful suggestions when the bot encounters a fallback scenario. This ensures that users are guided to relevant information even when a direct answer is unavailable.

By default, the suggestions are divided as follows:  

  • 60% FAQ Suggestions: Based on frequently asked questions (FAQs).  
  • 40% Document Suggestions: Based on content extracted from related documents.

 How It Works  

  1. Fallback Trigger:   When the bot cannot provide a direct response to a user’s query, the fallback mechanism triggers.  
  2. Suggestion Generation:   Based on the default ratio, the bot displays:  
    1. 60% FAQ Suggestions: Top FAQ-based recommendations.  
    2. 40% Document Suggestions: Relevant document-based recommendations.

     

 Example of Question Suggestions  

 Scenario: User asks an unsupported question  

User Query: “What are the services offered for male infertility”  

Bot Response: The bot doesn’t have an exact answer and displays suggestions:  

  • FAQs (60%):  
  • Documents (40%): 

Key Attributes for Suggestions  

  1. QUESTION_SUGGESTIONS

    1. Purpose: Activates the suggestion mechanism during fallback scenarios.  
    2. Function: Displays relevant suggestions to the user.

  2. FAQ_RATIO  

    1. Purpose: Determines the percentage of FAQ-based suggestions.
    2. Default Value: 60%.

  3. DYNAMIC_QUESTIONS_RATIO  

    1. Purpose: Determines the percentage of document-based suggestions.  
    2. Default Value: 40%.
